
Porthtowan Surf Life-Saving Club is based on the north coast of Cornwall, U.K. It lies between St. Ives and Newquay along with our neighbouring clubs; St. Agnes and Portreath.

Porthtowan Surf Life Saving Club was formed on the 24th October 1955.
It was the fourth Surf Life-Saving Club to be formed in Great Britain, following Bude, Brighton and St. Agnes. After the busy summer of 1955 when several bathers needed rescuing from the sea off Porthtowan, a group of locals met with Alan Kennedy ofREAD MORE

Juniors are aged 13- 16. During the Juniors programme they will further develop the skills, knowledge and confidence that they achieved as Nippers. They will continue to work with the Juniors coaches in small ability led groups. They will be offered coaching that will ensure progression towards competing and gaining qualifications.

Nippers are aged 7- 13. We have a dedicated team of experienced coaches who will support the Nippers in a variety of activities that range throughout the year. We divide our nippers into ability groups so that each individual is nurtured within that setting and enabled to progress to the best of their ability.

Seniors are aged 18 – 29 and Masters are 30 and above. We have a mixed range of Seniors. Some of our members have progressed through the club from Nippers and Juniors, whilst others have joined recently.
