Club Captain’s Rules

Club Captain’s Rules


  • All club members must treat each other and their club with fairness and
  • Only current paid up members are allowed to enter the club and use its
    equipment and facilities.



  • Treat the clubhouse with care and respect at all times.
  • Any damage caused to the clubhouse must be reported to the Club Captain
  • No pets/animals are to be left in the club house unattended.
  • The club house and adjoining areas are strictly no smoking.



  • No personal kit to be left in the clubroom.
  • The clubroom must be swept out after use and at the end of every day.
  • All rubbish must be put in
    the bins provided then put out for collection on a Thursday night.
  • Recycling must be washed and put in the bin provided then taken to an
    appropriate recycling facility when full. (Nearest is in the beach car park).

Kitchen area

  • Must be kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • All dishes must be washed, dried and put away.
  • Food stored in this area is for the consumption of the purchaser.


Changing Rooms

  • No kit is to be left in the changing rooms unless hung or stored in the
    facilities provided.
  • The changing rooms must be cleaned after use and hosed out after
    training sessions.


  • All club equipment is to be washed down and returned to the correct
    location after use.
  • Any damage to equipment must be reported to the Gear steward (Gary),
    Senior Manager (Shaun) or the Club Captain immediately.
  • All club equipment must be checked prior to use and only used for the
    purpose it was intended.
  • Porthtowan SLSC accept no responsibility for loss or damage to personal
    gear stored in the clubhouse.


  • All club members must make every effort to keep up to date with current
    surf life saving qualifications by taking part in training or assisting in
    training others.
  • All awards or certificates taken must be paid in full by the candidate
    to the Club Treasurer.




  • All club members are encouraged to take part in competition.
  • It is expected that all club members represent the club by participating
    or assisting the club to enter the Cornish Surf Life Saving Championships.
  • All competition fees must be paid to the Club Treasurer prior to the
    relevant competition.



  • Club members are encouraged to become RNLI volunteers, assisting in patrols
    or first aid accordingly.
  • Club members are not to enter the Lifeguard Operations Room unless
    authorised by the Senior Lifeguard or requiring assistance.
  • Club members must not use or tamper with RNLI property stored in the
